December Meeting notes from Stacy:

Thank you to Sue Wimmer for hosting such a lovely Christmas party for the DEMQG! Everyone had a wonderful time.Skill Share – Stacy gave a tutorial to get everyone started with Instagram. If there are any questions or if anyone would like further instruction please come to the January Sew-In day.

Sew-In Days will be held every other month beginning in January. 10am-2pm. Regular meeting to follow 2pm-4pm. Sew-In days are optional. Come for as long as you like.

Round Robin will begin in February, Thank you to Maryann for coordinating this. A more detailed concept for the Round Robin will be given at the January meeting. Please start thinking about your start block. It needs to beabout 18” x 18”. This will last 6 months and will be rotating between participants bimonthly, so plenty of time to gather inspiration and add to each quilt.

Queen Bee – We will be starting a new cycle of the Quilty Bee. Start time TBA. If you would like to participate please email or sign up at the next meeting.

Block of the Month – After much discussion the Block of the month will be your choice of quilt. Some of us have decided to do the Gypsy Wife quilt, others the My Small World quilt. If anyone is interested in participating please let us know.

It has been decided that we will continue with a blog for information and updates. Pam has graciously began a Facebook page for us. Everyone should have received a link to sign up. If you do not have Facebook, no worries. You will still be able to get important updates via the blog.

Melissa got us going with the first Challenge. It was a very exciting/confusing/inspiring experience tearing the fabric and passing it around. I know we are all looking forward to seeing each other’s creativity come through with this improve challenge. Finished projects will be shared at the March meeting.

Lastly, please remember to bring show and tell. We would like show and tell to be Modern and would love to hear from you why it is considered “Modern”. All show and tells welcome as we know it is exciting to finish, but please remember this is a Modern Guild!

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, 01/10/2016, for the sew-in, part of the sew-in and/or the Guild meeting!
